SEA-PAH Events for the Week of November 20th

Best in Show, Saturday the 25th, 7pm

Join SEA-PAH and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Abbey of Saint Joan as we bring you one of the most fabulous Best in Show productions yet!

What is Best in Show?

Best in Show is an annual contest that turns the idea of contests on its head. Competitors are asked to, above all else, have fun. Teams of competitors are pitted against each other to perform two scenes for the audience, judging is live, judges can be bribed, or in any other way persuaded, to adjust their scores by the audience, and the audience can increase a Team’s score through donations in their name.

Best in Show is designed to remove the stress of the title contest and encourage the contestants to have fun and be themselves while the audience gets involved and is entertained. Every year the funds raised from Best in Show are used to provide SEA-PAH with a specific organizational need, or are used to assist in a worthy cause.

Who is the Beneficiary?

Join us this year as we raise funds for The Lambert House Capital Campaign. Lambert House began in the early 1980’s as a group of youth and youth supporters who came together in order to create ways for sexual minority youth to meet. As the grassroots effort took form, the Association of Gay and Lesbian Youth Advocates (AGLYA) carved out its existence.

In 1991 AGLYA seized an opportunity to lease an old Victorian house in Capitol Hill, Seattle’s queer neighborhood. In 1993 AGLYA became an independent organization named after Gray Lambert, a local queer youth advocate.

The Lambert House continues to provide youth services to LGBTQ+ youth in the Seattle Area. There are not words strong enough to describe how important the work this organization does and they are currently at risk of losing their location. We want to help make sure that The Lambert House continues to be able to operate within our community and provide these services for generations to come.

Best in Show will take place at the Cuff Complex and is a 21+ event.

SEA-PAH Members’ Mosh, Sunday the 26th, 2pm

Prefer a smaller, quieter mosh time? Then this is for you! Come on out to Doghouse Leathers HQ for a romping good time!

Volunteers Needed: Best in Show & SASG Tree Lot

SEA-PAH is looking for volunteers for two upcoming events, first we are looking for individuals to help with set up, tear down, and door at Best in Show. Volunteers would need to arrive by 4pm for set up, tear down should only take about 30 minutes. Door opens at 6. Best in Show is Saturday November 25th from 7pm to 9pm. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Pup Harley.

We’ll be getting in the spirit of the howlidays by helping our Seattle Area Support Groups at the annual Tree Lot! We’ll need as many helping paws, claws, and hands as possible to help us do everything from tree selection and sales to running the cash register. We’ll be working in three hour shifts, and if earning Service Kennel points wasn’t enough incentive, volunteers will receive a treat from SASG for each three hour shift completed. Please be aware, as this is in December, you’ll want to bundle up to stay toasty while you bark up the right tree! If interest in volunteering, please reach out to Pup Biscuit. We will need volunteers on Saturday December 16th from 9am to 9pm.

SEA-PAH Annual Membership Survey

The SEA-PAH Annual Membership Survey is open until the end of the month. SEA-PAH Members have received a link to the survey via email, if you have not received the link please contact the board so the link can be resent to you. The SEA-PAH board uses this survey to plan the upcoming year and help guide the direction SEA-PAH takes. All answers are completely anonymous, so please be as detailed and candid as possible in your responses to help the board with their planning.

SEA-PAH Events for the Week of November 6th

SEA-PAH Meet and Sniff Social, Friday the 10th, 9pm

Every month, SEA-PAH gets together at our home bar, The Cuff, to unwind and socialize with old friends, packmates, and meet new members who may become old friends and packmates. This is one of our highest-attended events and sees Pups and Handlers of all types coming together to chat, dance, and howl away at the moon all night long.

Join us and shake your tail with SEA-PAH every month!

This is a 21+ event.

Public Mosh, Saturday the 11th, 2pm

Our public mosh is a great way to let out your inner puppy and socialize with other pups and handlers. We provide high energy mats for moshing and rough’n’tumble play, or take some time on the quiet mats to recharge, cuddle, and receive treats for being such a good puppy!

If it’s your first time at the public mosh and you don’t know where to start, keep an eye out for members of our Outreach Kennel, identifiable by their green and blue chords. They are there to answer questions and help you enjoy your time at the mosh.

This event is at The Cuff, and is a 21+ event.

SEA-PAH Monthly Board Meeting, Saturday the 11th, 5pm

The SEA-PAH board meeting takes place immediately following the Mosh. The board meetings are open to all members to attend, and comments/input is appreciated from all members that want to be involved with the organization.
